Yorktown Mud Bridge Closes for Emergency Repairs

Detours Currently in Place

CORPUS CHRISTI, TX – The City has initiated an emergency closure of the Yorktown Mud Bridge in the 8600 block of Yorktown Boulevard for emergency repairs of a washout resulting in damage to the bridge’s retaining wall. Repairs are underway to fill the washout and shore up the roadway. The repairs are expected to take two to three days.

Design engineers will assess the roadway and determine when it can be reopened to traffic.

All traffic traveling east on Yorktown Boulevard will be turned around at Krypton Drive. Westbound traffic is being turned around at Arman Street. Local access is being allowed to residents only.

Safety is a top priority, so motorists are advised to use alternate routes to avoid delays, remain aware of the work zone, and follow posted detour signs.
