Update: Thursday Last Day to Register to Vote
In May 6th Special Election
CORPUS CHRISTI, TX - City Secretary Rebecca L. Huerta reminds everyone the last day to register to vote in the May 6th Special Election is Thursday, April 6, 2017.
On Saturday, May 6, 2017, the City of Corpus Christi will hold a special election to fill a vacancy in the Office of Mayor. To vote in the election, you must be registered to vote. Citizens can contact the Nueces County Voter Registrar's Office at (361) 888-0404 or visit their office in the Nueces County Courthouse, 901 Leopard Street, for more information. To confirm whether a citizen is already registered to vote, they can access the www.votetexas.gov website or contact the Nueces County Voter Registrar’s Office.
To be eligible to vote, a citizen must be a United States citizen; a resident of the county where you submit the application; at least 18 years old on Election Day; not a convicted felon (may be eligible to vote if you have completed your sentence, probation, and parole); and not have been declared by a court exercising probate jurisdiction to be either totally mentally incapacitated or partially mentally incapacitated without the right to vote.
Early voting will begin on Monday, April 24th and end on Tuesday, May 2, 2017. The last day to request a ballot by mail from the Nueces County Clerk’s Office is Thursday, April 25, 2017.
