UPDATE Sister City Delegation to Visit France for Cultural Exchange

Del Mar College Faculty to Perform in Special Concert

CORPUS CHRISTI, TX – Corpus Christi’s Sister City Committee is excited to announce the first of two cultural exchanges between the City and Agen, France.

A delegation, led by District 3 Councilmember Roland Barrera and Sister City Committee Chairperson Melody Cooper, will represent the City in Agen from May 23 to May 28. Joining the group is Del Mar College Professor of Music, Dr. David Sutanto, and Professor of Piano, Dr. Shao-Shan Chen.

A special concert will take place Thursday, May 26, in Agen, where Dr. Sutanto and Dr. Chen will perform an outstanding program of four-handed and two-handed pieces for piano. Performing alongside our pianists is Agen’s Marc Olivier-Poingt, who will be performing in Corpus Christi this fall in the second cultural exchange between our sister cities.

“I cannot underscore the values that our sister city affords us,” said Mayor Paulette Guajardo. “This cultural exchange further strengthens our international presence.”

The Sister Cities program promotes Corpus Christi’s education, cultural, and economic presence in the international community.

The Sister City Committee is a City Council-appointed Commission. For media inquiries, contact Robert Gonzales, Public Information Manager, at 361-826-3233 or email at robertg8@cctexas.com.
