CORPUS CHRISTI TX - The Corpus Christi-Nueces County Public Health District received notification of the deaths of two Nueces County residents due to COVID-19.  The patients were a male and a female who were both hospitalized when they passed away. The male patient was between the ages of 40-49 and was hospitalized in late-June. His underlying medical conditions included hypertension and diabetes. The female patient was between the ages of 90-99 and was hospitalized in July. Our condolences go out to the family and friends of the two deceased. No further information is being released for privacy and confidentiality reasons.

The deaths make a total of 3 in one day and brings the total deaths to 13.  The rapid increase in hospitalizations and deaths due to COVID-19 continues to be a major concern for Public Health.

The Health District advises the public to stay at home if possible, wear a mask when you do go outside, and social distance of at least 6 feet when around others.  Public Health warns against being in large settings with strangers.  Following these guidelines will help reduce the transmission of the virus.
