Temporary Closure of Northbound Staples Street at S.P.I.D.

Planned Utility Upgrades Expected to Take Several Hours

Beginning Thursday, December 7 at 11:30 p.m., scheduled utility upgrades will be underway at the intersection of South Staples Street and S.P.I.D. (HWY 358) with a 2-lane closure on the northbound lanes of Staples Street.

Drivers can expect to see flashing signage as they approach the worksite, where Corpus Christi Water (CCW) experts will be using utility trucks and other heavy equipment. Flushing of water lines will occur during the repairs resulting in water being present in the roadway and surrounding area. Work is expected to be completed by the morning of Friday, December 8.

Motorists are advised to exercise caution in the area and to follow posted traffic signs.
