Support the IceRays and help the City

Host a NHL Preseason Game

The City of Corpus Christi and the Corpus Christi IceRays are asking for community support in helping the city become America’s next Kraft Hockeyville.

Kraft Foods is searching for the most passionate hockey community to become this year’s “Kraft Hockeyville.” The winning community will get the chance to host a televised NHL preseason game, earn $150,000 in arena renovations and become the second “Kraft Hockeyville.” The annual competition is sponsored by Kraft Foods, the National Hockey League (NHL) and the NHL Players’ Association. Communities around the country compete to demonstrate their commitment to the sport of ice hockey and how their local hockey town has affected their lives.

Show your hockey spirit and share your hockey story by nominating the American Bank Center at and in turn helping Corpus Christi become the next Kraft Hockeyville. Attached is voting information with step-by-step instructions, along with a brief video of IceRays players promoting fan participation. Here are some team highlight examples fans can mention on the ballot:

  • The IceRays are on pace to lead the North American Hockey League (NAHL) in attendance for the 3rd consecutive season, averaging around 3,000 passionate fans per game for the past six seasons.

  • This is the 18th season for the IceRays, who stand as the longest running sports organization in the Corpus Christi area.

  • Three former IceRays players have been on NHL rosters this season. (Ryan Garbutt, Anthony Stolarz, and Pheonix Copley)

  • The team supports numerous non-profit organizations every season, including Brooke’s Blossoming Hope for Childhood Cancer Foundation, the American Cancer Society, the American Heart Association, and Mission 9-1-1.
