CORPUS CHRISTI, TX – The Corpus Christi Parks & Recreation Department is offering a variety of classes this spring to help you get active to reach your fitness goals. We are also offering our after school program for kids that will channel their energy and keep them engaged in positive activities at the recreation centers. Classes are available for adults and youth.

Recreation Center's After School Program is offered FREE for ages 6-16 on Mondays through Fridays from 3-7pm at all four city recreation centers. It’s an open campus program with general supervision that offers kids to explore new things, connect with friends and learn new recreation, social and life skills. Activities include homework tutorials, sports, arts and crafts, indoor and outdoor games, and more. An afternoon snack is served daily at all sites. Online registration is required and ongoing, space permitting. 

NEW: Total Body Circuit Training Class is offered for teens and adults ages 13 and older on Mondays and Wednesdays from 5-5:50pm at the Lindale Recreation Center, 3133 Swantner Drive. The 50-minute session will condition your body through strength and resistance training using high and low intensity levels. Each circuit exercise will consist of four sets at one-minute intervals with a 20-second rest in-between. Professional Instruction is provided by Brynda Soto. Register online for $25/month, or $40 a month if you pair it with Brazilian Butt Circuit Training, or $5/day drop-in fee.

NEW: Brazil Butt Circuit Training is offered for ages 16 and up on Mondays and Wednesdays from 6-6:50pm at the Lindale Recreation Center, 3133 Swantner Drive. The 50-minute session will target the three major muscle groups in the glutes by using lower body resistance and a mixture of moves. By using the proper form as taught in class, these moves will help tighten and tone your body. Professional Instruction is provided by Brynda Soto. Register online for $25/month, or $40 a month if you pair it with Brazilian Butt Circuit Training, or $5/day drop-in fee.

NEW: Karate Class is offered for ages 5-65 on Mondays and Wednesdays from 6–7pm at the Oso Recreation Center, 1111 Bernice Drive. This martial art is founded on the basic techniques of punching, striking, kicking and blocking. Professional instruction provided by John Castillo. Register online for $40/month or $10/day drop-in fee.

Street Dance Class is offered for adults and children ages 3 and older on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 5:30-7pm at the Oso Recreation Center, 1111 Bernice Drive. Street dancing involves a range of funk and hip-hop dance styles. Popular forms of street dance include break-dance, popping, locking and house dance. The class incorporates a lot of cardio, squats, turns, jumps and stretching. Professional Instruction is provided by Jacob Murphy. Register online for $30/month.

Adult Aerobics Class is offered on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 5:30-6:30pm at the Lindale Recreation Center, 3133 Swantner Drive. The class incorporates strength training with weights and resistance to increase muscle and metabolism. It includes kickboxing, step-bench, body sculpting, ab work, flexibility and relaxation. Professional Instruction is provided by Cheryl Vandever. Register online for $25/month.
