Senior Center Members Treat Students to School Shopping

Shop with a Senior Event to Benefit Flour Bluff Students

CORPUS CHRISTI, TX - The City of Corpus Christi Parks & Recreation Department invites the media to its 2017 Shop with a Senior and Students of Flour Bluff School event.

WHEN:               Thursday, August 10, 2017, from 9:30 am to 11:00 am

WHERE:            Walmart Shopping Center located at 1250 Flour Bluff Drive          

WHO:                 Ethel Eyerly Senior Center members will take 25 Flour Bluff ISD students between the ages of 8 to 10 shopping.

WHY:                 The Ethel Eyerly Senior Center members wanted to help children get a good start with school. The members have been diligently working on fundraising events to help support Flour Bluff Elementary School 3rd and 4th grade students who will soon be starting their 2017–2018 school year. They will take the children shopping for new school clothes and hygiene products. Following the shopping, the center members will treat the children to lunch and dessert at the center. They will end their day with a swim at the Parker Pool.
