"Safe Fun-Fit at the Bayfront" Will Offer "Walk with a Doc" and Classes at The Water's Edge This Saturday

CORPUS CHRISTI, TX – The Corpus Christi Parks & Recreation Department, in partnership with VFit Productions, invites you to join the "Safe Fun-Fit at the Bayfront's Walk with a Doc." The event is Saturday, January 14, at 8:00 a.m. at The Water's Edge Park, located at 402 S. Shoreline Boulevard. Walk with a Doc is offered on the second Saturday of every month. The event is free and open to everyone!

Dr. Matt Bayazitogue and Dr. Maria Narcise will lead a group walk and present information on the benefits of an active lifestyle for children and adults. Fitness classes will be offered from 8:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. For a free fitness class of your choice, sign up today for the 'Back to Basics Fitness', Yoga, or Zumba class at www.cctexas.com/safefunfit. Class sessions are limited to 30 participants per class. Participants are encouraged to bring their own yoga mat and water for their workout. All participants receive a punch card to record each Saturday attended. A completed punch card of ten punches is eligible for a prize.

The Fitness Lane route begins along the seawall at The Water's Edge, northbound, towards the American Bank Center, with the turnaround just before the barge dock entrance. Walk, jog, run, or bike along the event's designated 1.5-mile fitness lane (one way). Our community partner, H-E-B, will provide fruit and water for all participants.
