City Prepares for Freezing Conditions
Warming Centers to Open Monday
CORPUS CHRISTI, TX – The National Weather Service forecasts a strong Arctic cold front will move into the Corpus Christi area Sunday, resulting in below-freezing temperatures Monday and Tuesday night. Below-freezing temperatures will likely take place for eight to nine hours Monday overnight and ten to twelve hours Tuesday overnight. The arctic freeze will lead to dangerous wind chill values across the region through Wednesday morning.
Although light precipitation is possible, it is predicted to clear out when the freezing air arrives.
The City has measures in place to ensure proper and safe City services in public safety, transportation, water, homelessness, and animal care. Residents are urged to take this time to protect people, property, and pets.
The Corpus Christi Regional Transportation Authority will provide free transportation to and from the warming center during available hours. For more information, go to https://www.ccrta.org.
