City Offering Two Basketball Programs for Youth This Winter

CORPUS CHRISTI, TX – Get your kids set to play basketball in the Corpus Christi Parks & Recreation Department’s upcoming league or camp.

The Winter 2024 Youth Basketball Camp is for youth ages 8 to 17. It will be held on January 3, 4, and 5, 2024, from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at the Corpus Christi Gym, located at 3202 Cabaniss Parkway. Participants will learn the fundamentals of basketball — how to shoot hoops, dribble, and other techniques through proper form, drills, and practice. They will also put these skills to practice with frequent basketball games against fellow campers. Professional instruction will be conducted by local high school basketball coach Roy De La Pena. The cost for this three-day camp is $70 per child. Online registration will be available now through January 5, 2024.

The Winter 2024 Youth Basketball League is for youth ages 6 to 13 (as of December 31, 2023). The six-game season will run from January 27 through March 2, 2024, at the Corpus Christi Gym, located at 3202 Cabaniss Parkway, and the Ben Garza Gym, located at 1815 Howard Street. Online registration is open now through January 1, 2024, for $60 per child. Late registration will be available from January 2 through January 8, 2024, for $85 per child. Up to 20 scholarships are available for qualifying participants with required documentation.
