Council Receives Presentation on Marina Progress

Key Enhancements Currently Under Development

CORPUS CHRISTI, TX – During today’s regularly scheduled City Council meeting, Mayor Paulette Guajardo and the City Council received a presentation regarding $46 million in Municipal Marina improvements taking place over the next two years. Projects include multiple dock replacements, the new Coopers L Head Boater Facility, the Haul Out Facility and Marina Office, the Peoples Boardwalk, and the Marina Masterplan.

The New Coopers L Head Boater Facility project design is in progress, with an estimated design completion of Spring 2024. The facility will include public restrooms, tenant restrooms, a large meeting room, a laundry room, a work room, and a storage room.

The Haul Out Facility and Marina Office project is also underway, with an estimated design completion of Spring 2024. The facility amenities include a marina office, retail/marine vendor space, staff breakroom, conference room, storage for travel lifts, workspace, and equipment storage.

The Peoples Boardwalk project will replace the wooden structure boardwalk with a concrete structure. The design of the new boardwalk is 100% complete and will soon be released for bid and project phasing.

The Marina Master Plan is also in progress; stakeholder meetings and the community survey were completed this fall, and design completion is expected in Spring 2024. The Marina Master Plan will assist the city in developing an inclusive and comprehensive plan for the Municipal Marina.
