Don Patricio Bridge Completed

City Dedicates Bridge

CORPUS CHRISTI, TX – The City of Corpus Christi is excited to announce the completion and dedication of the Don Patricio Bridge, named in honor of Patrick F. Dunn (otherwise known as Don Patricio). This public private partnership is a significant step forward in infrastructural development and community enhancement. This nearly $22 million project, initiated in 2020, is a vital addition to North Padre Island's landscape, designed to significantly improve public transportation, safety, and access.

This project includes two bridges with a raised road profile to accommodate both boat and pedestrian traffic. The bridge, featuring three concrete arches, allows boating access to Lake Padre and the Packery Channel. The arches on both sides of the canal span 36 feet each, serving as a pedestrian-friendly boardwalk, promoting walkability and public well-being.

The Don Patricio Bridge enhances public infrastructure while honoring the legacy of Patrick F. Dunn. Focused on economic development and public utility, this project marks a significant stride in Corpus Christi's journey toward a more connected and vibrant community.
