COVID Clinic to Merge with Routine Immunizations Clinic
Effective Friday, August 25
CORPUS CHRISTI, TX – During the recent legislative session, a general appropriations act, House Bill 1, Article II, Rider 40, will become effective on Friday, September 1, 2023. Rider 40 prohibits the Department of State Health Services (DSHS) from using appropriated funds to promote or advertise COVID-19 vaccinations.
Since the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic, Corpus Christi-Nueces County Public Health District (CCNCPHD) has received funding from DSHS to support COVID-19 vaccination efforts exclusively. Due to the restrictions of the funding source, CCNCPHD will be merging the COVID clinic with the immunization clinic beginning Friday, August 25.
The CCNCPHD immunization clinic is open Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., and closed from 12:00 p.m. to 1:00 p.m. For increased access, the CCNCPHD immunizations clinic is also open every first Monday of the month from 8:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. (unless a holiday falls on that Monday).
