Free Legal Services Available to Corpus Christi Residents
Virtual Legal Aid Kiosk Now Open
CORPUS CHRISTI, TX – La Retama Central Library is now home to the first Corpus Christi Legal Aid kiosk. The City joins 18 Texas cities that provide free legal services to all residents. The kiosk is part of the Virtual Court Access pilot program from the Texas Legal Services Center (TLSC) and funded by the Texas Access to Justice Foundation grant.
The kiosk will assist legal parties in obtaining the required documentation for court hearings. This will help prevent residents from being turned away for not having the necessary paperwork.
The Legal Aid kiosk is an access point to online court hearings, legal research, and legal information. No legal representation is provided, but residents can chat with a TLSC representative to receive legal advice.
Residents are encouraged to make a reservation in advance to use the kiosk. However, walk-ins are also welcome based on kiosk availability.
TLSC representatives are only available to chat virtually with users Monday through Friday. If an individual has an online court hearing past 5:30 p.m., they can stay until the library closes at 6:00 p.m.
To make a reservation, please call 361-826-7000, or visit https://www.tlsc.org/kiosks.
