CORPUS CHRISTI, TX – The Mayor’s 46th annual Fourth of July Big Bang Celebration is almost here, and the Committee is excited to feature a full day of FREE events for the whole family.

Saturday, July 1:
COASTAL COMIDA FEST
The Corpus Christi Parks & Recreation Department presents the inaugural Coastal Comida Fest on Saturday, July 1, from 12:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m., at The Water’s Edge, 402 South Shoreline Boulevard. 18 Food trucks will offer a variety of delicious dishes for everyone to enjoy. The Family Fun Zone will provide free live music by local favorites, vendors, and plenty of children’s activities.
Sunday, July 2:
INDEPENDENCE DAY FAJITA COOK-OFF-Sponsored by Nueces Brewing and BBQ, Co.
Cook-off participants have the option to cook on-site or off-site. On-site participants can start cooking on Sunday, July 2, beginning at 10:00 a.m., at 401 South Water Street. Participants can register for the fajita cook-off by visiting www.nuecesbrewing.com/fajita-cookoff/. The entry fee is $75 per team. This event is open to the public beginning at 11:30 a.m.
Judging will begin at 4:00 p.m. with Mayor Paulette Guajardo as a guest judge. Cash prizes will be awarded to the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place winners.

Tuesday, July 4:
Patriotic Ceremony
The Mayor’s Committee for Veterans Affairs’ Patriotic Ceremony will begin on Tuesday, July 4, 9:30 a.m., at Sherrill Veterans Memorial Park, 222 South Shoreline Boulevard. The program will include a presentation of colors, a performance by the Veterans Band of Corpus Christi, a keynote speaker, and more.
Big Bang Celebration Food Truck Festival and Family Fun Zone
The Corpus Christi Parks & Recreation Department is hosting a Food Truck Festival on Tuesday, July 4, from 12:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m., at The Water’s Edge, located at 402 South Shoreline Boulevard. Food trucks will offer delicious dishes for everyone to enjoy. The Family Fun Zone will provide free live music, vendors, lawn games, and plenty of children’s activities. Special performance by The Groove from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.
BIG BANG Fireworks Show Presented by H-E-B
The Mayor’s Fourth of July Big Bang Firework Show, sponsored H-E-B, will begin Tuesday, July 4, at 9:30 p.m. along the Corpus Christi Bayfront. The show's viewing will be available from North Beach to Cole Park and will last approximately 21 minutes. Tune in to the following local radio stations for synchronized patriotic music beginning at 9:30 p.m.

CORPUS CHRISTI RTA PARK & RIDE
With ongoing road closures, construction, and limited parking, guests are strongly encouraged to utilize the Corpus Christi RTA’s complimentary Park & Ride service.
The service will be available on Tuesday, July 4, from 11:30 a.m. until 30 minutes after the fireworks have ended.
- Pick up is at Corpus Christi City Hall, 1201 Leopard Street
- Drop off is at Water Street, between John Sartain & Lomax Streets (formerly William St.)
- BBQ pits or coals are not permitted on the bus
- Coolers and lawn chairs are permitted on the bus
- Service animals are allowed anytime
- Emotional support animals must be in a pet carrier
NO PARKING/ROAD CLOSURES
No Parking and Tow Away Zones will be strictly enforced beginning Tuesday, July 4, at 7:00 a.m.
