I-37 Nueces River Project Closures Pause for July 4th Holiday

Closures Set to Resume 9:00 p.m. Wednesday

CORPUS CHRISTI, TX – Beginning at 10:00 a.m. today, the Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) contractors are pausing all construction-related lane closures on the I-37 Nueces River Bridge Reconstruction Project for the Fourth of July holiday.

Contractors will temporarily stop all lane closures on I-37 from Redbird Lane to US 77. However, contractors may continue to work behind concrete traffic barriers or during emergencies.

Access to Labonte Park will remain open. The bridge clearance at the turnaround under the bridge is 12 feet 3 inches. Vehicles exceeding the clearance should use the I-37 southbound Labonte Park exit ramp.

Recurring nighttime lane and ramp closures will resume at 9:00 p.m. Wednesday following the Fourth of July holiday.

All work is weather permitting. Lane closures are subject to change without notice.
