TxDOT Contractor to Temporarily Close Lanes on JFK Causeway from June 26 to June 30

Concrete Median Barrier to be Installed on Bridge

CORPUS CHRISTI, TX – Beginning Monday, Jun 26, a Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) contractor will begin temporary lane closures on the JFK Causeway Bridge to install 3,900 linear feet of permanent concrete barriers. The work is part of a $9 million maintenance project that is being performed to maximize the bridge's lifespan and reduce the bridge's overall lifecycle costs.

The barrier installation will require the closure of the inside lanes in each direction from 4:00 a.m. on Monday, June 26 through 4:00 a.m. on Friday, June 30. One travel lane will remain open in each direction during this phase of the project.

Weather in the Gulf of Mexico will be monitored, and all lanes can be reopened early if threatening conditions develop.
