Barge Removed from Packery Channel

CORPUS CHRISTI, TX – The salvage contractor Resolve Marine has completed the removal of the barge from the water near Packery Channel. They are currently cutting the barge into smaller sections in preparation for transport to a nearby scrap facility. This work is anticipated to take approximately one week to complete.

Access to the South Packery Channel jetty walkway is now open to the public. Beachgoers will notice temporary fencing surrounding the worksite, and we ask that caution be used when traveling to and from the jetty.
