Contractor Completes Final Two Bent Cap Repairs on Yorktown Mud Bridge

Rebar Cages to be Added to Columns Monday

CORPUS CHRISTI, TX – City contractors began repairs to the Yorktown Mud Bridge on January 23. They are now on their 38th working day of what is expected to be a 70-working-day project.

The contractors completed repairs on the final two bent caps this week. The project called for restoring 9 of the 11 bridge bent caps.

With bent cap repairs complete, the contractors are preparing the bridge columns for specialized jackets. The first step in the process is the installation of rebar cages, scheduled to begin on Monday.
