Sunken Vessel Removed from City Marina

CORPUS CHRISTI, TX – A shrimp boat that sank while moored in the Corpus Christi Municipal Marina has been removed from the water. Two cranes hoisted the vessel out of the water and onto the marina parking lot. The vessel owner is coordinating efforts for the disposal of the boat.

Oil and fuel leaked from the boat were contained. The vessel owner contracted a private emergency environmental response team for cleanup services in the impacted area.

The City of Corpus Christi, the Coast Guard, and the General Land Office monitored the site during the cleanup and vessel removal operation.

There were no reports of impacts on marine animals or other wildlife.
