Winter Storm Air Travel Disruption Update
Southwest Airlines Continues Recovering from Operational Challenges
CORPUS CHRISTI, TX – Airlines across the United States continue to encounter travel disruptions this holiday season. Frigid temperatures and ice in some regions of the nation have created challenges for many airlines as they try to resume normal operations. Southwest Airlines has the majority of flight cancellations and delays. The airline is providing travel disruption information on its website at Travel Disruption | Southwest Airlines.
At Corpus Christi International Airport, Southwest Airlines will have a flight arriving at 5:00 p.m. today and two scheduled departures daily until they are able to resume normal flight operations.
Customers holding any Southwest reservation from Sunday, December 25 through Monday, January 2, may rebook in the original class of service or travel standby (within 30 days of their original date of travel between the original city-pairs and in accordance with our accommodation procedures) without paying any additional charge.
To help stranded Southwest travelers, some airlines have announced price caps on airfares to select destinations. Customers must contact each airline to see what accommodations are available.
Please contact Southwest Airlines directly at 1-800-435-9792 for questions or use the Southwest mobile app or website to rebook your flights.
