Strasbourg Drive from Grenoble Drive to Marseille Drive to be Reconstructed

Another Bond 2020 Project Moves into Construction

CORPUS CHRISTI, TX – At today’s regularly scheduled City Council meeting, Mayor Paulette Guajardo and the City Council approved a $2.2 million-dollar construction contract to A. Ortiz Construction & Paving, Inc. for reconstructing Strasbourg Drive from Grenoble Drive to Marseille Drive in the Kings Crossing subdivision. This is a Bond 2020 project located in Council District 5. Funding for the project is available from the Bond 2020 Proposition A, Storm Water, Wastewater, and Water Capital Funds.

Strasbourg Drive is a minor residential collector roadway and is 0.28 miles in length. The street section was initially constructed in 1984 and reconstructed in 1995. The pavement has since deteriorated, and full-depth reconstruction is needed.

This project will reconstruct the existing two-lane roadway, a 40-foot-wide curb and gutter, and an asphalt roadway with a sidewalk, underground water lines, wastewater, and storm water lines. The project scope includes full-depth reconstruction of the existing two-lane road with a new asphalt pavement section, pavement markings, two four-foot shoulders, two five-foot sidewalks, new traffic signs, ADA-compliant pedestrian improvements, drainage improvements, and utility upgrades.

“Your City Council remains committed to fixing our streets,” said Mayor Paulette Guajardo. “Today, we continue to make progress in this endeavor.”

Construction is scheduled to begin in December 2022 and is expected to be completed in the summer of 2023. For the latest information on the Strasbourg Drive project, please visit www.cctexas.com/strasbourg2.
