CORPUS CHRISTI, TX - The City of Corpus Christi’s Parks & Recreation Department is now offering an all-new Back-to-Basics Youth Basketball Academy this fall at the Corpus Christi Gym, located at 3202 Cabaniss Parkway. This co-ed program is for boys and girls in the following grade divisions: (3rd & 4th), (5th & 6th), and (7th & 8th).
The six-week program will be held on Saturdays from November 12 to December 17. Each weekly session will be set for two hours by grade division as follows:
- 8:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. for Grade Division 3rd & 4th
- 10:45 a.m. to 12:45 p.m. for Grade Division 5th & 6th
- 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. for Grade Division 7th & 8th
The academy will provide training designed to help kids develop the building blocks and fundamentals of dribbling, passing, shooting, defense, and pivoting. Participants also will learn strategic plays and maneuvers. Each two-hour training period will dedicate the first hour to drills and practice and the second hour to scrimmage games. The basketball curriculum will incorporate training regimens for novices and athletes seeking to improve their skills.

The late registration fee will be $75 per participant. The program has a limit of 40 players per grade division, so register today to secure your youth’s enrollment.
