Fun Activities to Beat the Weekend Heat
CORPUS CHRISTI, TX – For the 13th year in a row, the City of Corpus Christi’s Parks & Recreation Department has partnered with Reliant Energy to help residents “Beat the Heat!” Please join us this Saturday, September 17, to receive a fun at-home cooling kit to beat the weekend heat at the Oveal Williams Senior Center, located at 1414 Martin Luther King Drive.
Along with opening cooling centers throughout the summer, the Parks & Recreation Department committed to offering three curbside cooling kit distributions. On Saturday, September 17, the final of the three kit distributions will take place. The kits will be available through curbside pick-up from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. or until supplies last.
This week’s 250 cooling kits will each include a personal cooling neck fan, an in-door activity, and a sno-cone. There is a limit of one kit per person, and residents must be present to receive items. The kits are for residents of all ages.
