Corpus Christi Air Quality Impacted by Ozone Levels and Controlled Burns
Impact Expected to Last Throughout the Weekend
March 25, 2022
CORPUS CHRISTI, TX – The City of Corpus Christi is experiencing moderate ozone levels caused by high temperatures and light winds. Particle pollution levels remain elevated due to ongoing controlled burns across southeastern portions of Texas and in the Coastal Bend.
The cities of Austin, Houston, and San Antonio are under an Ozone Action Day alert.
The Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ) recommends residents living with asthma or other lung conditions limit their outdoor activity throughout the weekend.
The City will continue to monitor the air quality as conditions warrant.
