Sign up for Walk Across Texas! A free 8-week physical activity challenge designed to encourage individuals to form healthy habits. Teams of eight individuals are formed to collectively walk the 832 miles it takes to travel from west to east Texas. Activity miles do not have to be from walking or running. Any physical activity mile counts. Check out the conversion chart under the WAT! Adult Resources tab at www.walkacrosstexas.org for more ideas. Research shows that an accountability partner helps with support and encouragement with any workout routine, so recruit seven family members, friends, or co-workers and join us March 21 through May 15 by registering at www.howdyhealth.org to get moving and get healthy!
The Fitness Lane route begins along the seawall at The Water’s Edge, northbound, towards the American Bank Center with the turnaround just before the barge dock entrance. Walk, jog, run, or bike along the event’s designated 1.5-mile fitness lane (one way). Our community partner, H-E-B, is providing fruit and water for all participants.
