City Manager Appoints New Director of Parks & Recreation
Robert Dodd is the current Head Boys Basketball Coach at W.B. Ray High School
CORPUS CHRISTI, TX – Corpus Christi City Manager Peter Zanoni has selected Robert Dodd as the new Director of the City’s Parks & Recreation Department. Robert is a native of Corpus Christi and has worked in the community for 27 years as an educator and basketball coach. He has taught and coached at several local school districts, including Ingleside ISD, Flour Bluff ISD, and Corpus Christi ISD. He is currently the Head Boys Basketball Coach at W.B. Ray High School.
“Robert is excited to join our leadership team here at the City and continue to give back to the community by leading and implementing changes and improvements critically needed for our local parks and recreation programs,” Zanoni said. “In all his coaching positions, Robert has been focused on team building, youth leadership, and goal-oriented results. We are confident he will utilize these characteristics in the Parks and Recreation Director’s position.”
Robert Dodd holds a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Texas at San Antonio.
His first day as the Parks & Recreation Director will be on Monday, April 4.
