Become a Senior Companion to An Older Adult in Your Community

Join AmeriCorps Seniors to Make a Difference

CORPUS CHRISTI, TX – The Senior Companion Program is seeking volunteers to serve in the Corpus Christi service area.

The purpose of the AmeriCorps Seniors’ Senior Companion Program is to engage persons 55 years and older, particularly those with limited incomes, in volunteer service to meet critical community needs and to provide a high-quality experience that will enrich the lives of the volunteers. The Senior Companion Program volunteers provide supportive, individualized services to help older adults with special needs maintain their dignity and independence.

We invite you to serve as a friend and companion to older neighbors making sure they can live in their own homes for as long as possible. As a Senior Companion volunteer, you will help seniors continue to live independently longer and provide respite to family caregivers. Senior Companions report that they also experience better health and longevity, having served their community.

AmeriCorps Seniors, Senior Companion Volunteers must pass a background check and are eligible to receive a stipend for their volunteering if they meet income eligibility requirements.
