City Authorizes Agreement for Elderly Meal Delivery Program
Over 600 Meals Will Continue to Be Provided Daily
CORPUS CHRISTI, TX – At today’s regularly scheduled City Council meeting, Mayor Paulette M. Guajardo and the City Council approved a three-year service agreement with R&R Delivery Service for the Elderly Nutrition Program that provides home-delivered meals to eligible seniors. The program provides over 600 meals daily.
The $668,250 contract is funded through the FY 2022 budget, with $167,062 from the Elderly Nutrition Grant Fund.
The Elderly Nutrition Program has been provided by the City since the early 1970s and delivers meals city-wide Monday through Friday. The program helps homebound seniors with diminished mobility to live healthier and more nourished lives in their own homes.
