City Awarded 2021 Planning Achievement Award for Public Outreach

Award Represents State’s Highest Planning Honor

CORPUS CHRISTI, TX – The Texas Chapter of the American Planning Association has selected Corpus Christi’s Southside, London, Flour Bluff, and Padre/Mustang Island Area Development Plans as the recipient of the Chapter’s 2021 Planning Achievement Award for Public Outreach.

The Texas APA awards represent the state’s highest planning honors. This award recognizes our community's collaborative process that engages residents, local business owners, and stakeholders towards developing a shared vision for the future and a strategy of policies, programs, and projects to achieve that vision.

“The work our staff has done to engage the public and listen to residents to develop a shared vision for the future of our communities has had a tremendous positive impact on our city,” Mayor Paulette M. Guajardo said. “We are planning for future growth, prioritizing our infrastructure needs, and identifying capital projects to support responsible new development as well as the revitalization of existing neighborhoods.”
