SPMP Project on Commodores Drive Delayed

Park Road 22 to Aquarius Street

CORPUS CHRISTI, TX – The project set to begin on Commodores Drive between Park Road 22 and Aquarius Street will now begin on Tuesday, October 12. The project start has been delayed due to weather and contractor equipment issues. These improvements are part of the City’s Street Preventative Maintenance Program and weather permitting, the project is anticipated to be completed by Friday, October 15.

Construction will take place from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. and will begin on the westbound lanes of the roadway moving from Park Road 22 towards Aquarius Street. Crews will close the westbound lanes of the roadway and convert the eastbound lanes to two-way traffic. Once the westbound lanes are complete, they will be converted to two-way traffic to allow the contractor to begin work on the eastbound lanes. Detours will not be required for this work. Safety is a top priority, so motorists are reminded to be aware of the work zone, follow the posted detour signs, or seek alternate routes to avoid delays.
