City Supports $2.3 Million Lozano Golf Center Capital Improvements

Renovation of Nine-Hole Executive Course and Practice Range

CORPUS CHRISTI, TX – At today’s regularly scheduled City Council meeting, City Council approved a lease amendment with Foresight Corpus Christi Golf, LLC. The amendment will provide City funding of up to $2.3 million for the development of the Gabe Lozano Golf Center’s nine-hole executive course.

The Lozano Golf Center is owned by the City and managed by Foresight Golf, LLC. There have been plans to renovate the Executive Course since 2011. The capital improvement project will transform the underutilized course into a state-of-the-art facility that will enhance golf play, programming, and instruction.

In addition, the City is working with the Type B Board to fund lighting at the course to accommodate nighttime games. Evening hours at the course also will create an additional entertainment venue and increase the enjoyment of golf and recreation for the facility’s new and returning patrons. This improvement will make Lozano the first lighted executive course in the Coastal Bend region.

Foresight Golf will design, plan, and oversee the project’s construction. The project is scheduled to begin in October 2021 and be completed over the course of a year.
