Neighborhood Services Hosts Second Community Event

Connections to Assistance Event in Flour Bluff

CORPUS CHRISTI, TX – The newest City Department, Neighborhood Services, will host its second community event designed to assist families and connect them to needed services and resources. The event will take place at the Ethel Eyerly Senior Center located at 654 Graham Road, in Council District 4, on Saturday, August 28, from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.

The focus of the event is to provide working or recently out of work families immediate access to resources that support housing stability. City staff and community partners will be on-site to offer services, including:

  • Rental assistance for residents experiencing housing instability due to the COVID-19 pandemic
  • Free microchipping for household pets
  • On-site pet adoptions
  • Low-cost spay and neuter vouchers from PAAC
  • City employment postings and information
  • Code Enforcement and Storm Water information
  • Youth Sports programs

“I appreciate the community partners and City coming together to bring services to our residents and helping to support ‘the Bluff’ community,” District 4 Council Member Greg Smith said.

Preventative measures will be in place at the event to promote healthy behavior and maintain a healthy environment to reduce the risk of spreading COVID-19. The City encourages those attending the event to exercise caution and follow the Center for Disease Control and Prevention’s Public Health recommendations to wear a facemask in indoor public places and practice social distancing.
