“Safe Fun-Fit at the Bayfront” Hosting Free 4th Of July 5K/10K, Blood Drive, and Fitness Classes This Weekend

CORPUS CHRISTI, TX – The “Safe Fun-Fit at the Bayfront” is offering wellness activities this Saturday, July 3, 2021, by hosting a free 5K/10K, blood drive, and fitness classes. The 4th of July 5K/10K hosted by State Representative Todd Hunter starts at 7:30 a.m. at The Water’s Edge and is limited to 200 participants. Age Group Awards and Free Chip Timing. 5k will have 5-year age group awards, and the 10k will have 10-year age group awards. Participants will receive a card punch for every class attended this Saturday, July 3.
Blood donors save lives. Become an all-American Donor this Saturday. Interested donors can register online at coastalbendbloodcenter.org or call 361-855-4943 for information. Donors will receive a T-shirt, COVID-19 Antibody Test, and food coupon while supplies last. Masks are required.
The Fitness Lane route begins along the seawall at The Water’s Edge, northbound, towards the American Bank Center with the turnaround just before the barge dock entrance. Walk, jog, run, or bike along the event’s designated 1.50-mile fitness lane (one way). Our community partner, H-E-B, is providing fruit and water for all participants.
In coordination with Victor Betancourt of VFit Productions and the City’s Parks & Recreation Department, the City will offer “Safe Fun-Fit at the Bayfront” exercise and wellness events for ages eight and older, of all abilities and skill levels, on Saturdays from 7:30 a.m. – 11 a.m. at The Water’s Edge, 402 S. Shoreline Blvd. HIGH Fitness, Zumba, and Yoga will be held at the Islanders Pavilion next to the playground. The class schedule is available online.
Register Online for fitness classes and 5K at www.cctexas.com/safefunfit. Class sessions are limited to 30 participants per class. Participants are encouraged to bring their own yoga mat and water, as appropriate, for their workout.
