“Safe Fun-Fit at the Bayfront” Hosting Free Hottest 5K/10K, Walk with a Pup, and Fitness Classes This Weekend
All “Safe Fun-Fit at the Bayfront” Activities Scheduled at Heritage Park This Saturday
CORPUS CHRISTI, TX – The “Safe Fun-Fit at the Bayfront” will host all activities this Saturday, June 26, 2021, at Heritage Park, 1581 N. Chaparral. Wellness activities include a free 5K/10K, Walk with a Pup and fitness classes. Todd Hunter’s Hottest 5K/10K hosted by State Representative Todd Hunter starts at 7:30 a.m. at Heritage Park and is limited to 110 participants. Age group awards will be presented to participants.
New! Walk with a Pup will be offered at 9:30 a.m. Walking is not only good for you but also for your dog! Not only does walking keep your dog fit and in shape, but it also keeps them happy, well trained, and behaving properly. Walking improves the bond between you and your dog, which helps so many other aspects of one’s life. As a reminder, all dogs must be on a leash. Bring your fur babies with you!
This weekend only, the new Fitness Lane route begins from Heritage Park, towards the seawall to The Water’s Edge, southbound, and then turnaround at The Water’s Edge. Walk, jog, run, or bike along the event’s designated 1.50-mile fitness lane (one way). Our community partner, H-E-B, is providing fruit and water for all participants.
In coordination with Victor Betancourt of VFit Productions and the City’s Parks & Recreation Department, the City will offer “Safe Fun-Fit at the Bayfront” exercise classes for ages eight and older, of all abilities and skill levels, this Saturday from 7:30 a.m. – 11 a.m. at Heritage Park, 1581 N. Chaparral. HIGH Fitness, Zumba, and Yoga will be held in the park plaza. The class schedule is available online.
Register Online for fitness classes and 5K/10K at www.cctexas.com/safefunfit. Class sessions are limited to 30 participants per class. Participants are encouraged to bring their own yoga mat and water, as appropriate, for their workout.
