Everhart Road Construction Complete
CORPUS CHRISTI, TX – The City of Corpus Christi’s Engineering Services Department is excited to announce the re-opening of Everhart Road. The Everhart Road construction project from Holly Road to South Padre Island Drive (SPID), which began in September 2019, was completed this week.
Reytec Construction Resources, Inc. completed the $14.4 million dollar project on schedule and on budget. Project funding was provided through Type B funds.
The project included a full-depth reconstruction of the four-lane concrete roadway and a center turn lane, new curbs and gutters, sidewalks, ADA ramps, traffic signals, and street lighting improvements. The project also included significant utility enhancements to include stormwater, water, wastewater, and gas upgrades which will provide Everhart Road business owners with much-needed utility improvements.
Corpus Christi motorists can expect to see more improvements to Everhart Road as part of both the Bond 2018 and Bond 2020 projects. There will be three projects in total, which include the sections of Everhart Road from SPID to McArdle Road, McArdle Road to Staples Street, and Staples Street to Alameda Street. Construction on these projects is anticipated to begin in the Summer of 2022.
