City of Corpus Christi Announces New Leadership for Water Utilities
Mike Murphy Selected as the Chief Operating Officer
CORPUS CHRISTI, TX – Today, Mayor Paulette M. Guajardo and City Manager Peter Zanoni announced Mike Murphy as the new Chief Operating Officer for the City of Corpus Christi's Water Utilities.
In this new role, Murphy will designate and lead the strategic direction of the department to identify and develop new programs, initiatives, and activities for all employees of Water Utilities. He is also responsible for the oversight of the day-to-day business operations, planning, delivery, management, and continuous improvement of all aspects within the utility.
Born and raised in Lubbock, Texas, Murphy is a proud, native Texan with his bachelor's and master's degree from Texas Tech University.
Murphy most recently served sixteen years as the director of public works for the City of Greenville, South Carolina. He comes equipped with a strong engineering background, extensive experience in municipal government, and a successful record of project initiation and completion.
