City Parks Saturated Due to Heavy Rains

Residents Encouraged to be Cautious on Saturated Ground

CORPUS CHRISTI, TX – Heavy rains are predicted to continue throughout the week. The weather has led to the saturation of many of the City’s grounds, including our parkland.

Residents planning to visit a City park should be mindful of the community’s investment in the facility. Please help us protect our beautiful parks by avoiding driving or walking on wet grass. Driving or walking on wet grass can lead to severe damage to our recreational areas.

Citizens can also protect our parks by staying on the concrete pads during their visit or waiting until park grounds are dry. Citizens may also consider other recreational opportunities afforded by the City. This includes the Art Museum of South Texas, the Corpus Christi Science and History Museum, or multiple activities along the seawall.

The Corpus Christi Parks & Recreation Department is dedicated to providing quality, affordable enrichment programs for all ages and interests. For more information about the wide variety of programs and services offered by the department, visit www.ccparkandrec.com. We invite everyone to Live. Learn. Play!
