UPDATE: Get Set for Easter Holiday Camping at Labonte Park April 2 to 4, 2021
Celebrate Outdoors by the Nueces River. Online Reservations Offered March 23rd to April 1st.
CORPUS CHRISTI, TX – If you haven’t finalized your Easter plans, the City announces Easter holiday camping will resume this year at Labonte Park.
Labonte Park, located at 14333 IH-37 Access Road, is a wonderful place to enjoy and connect with your family and nature. The Nueces River runs along this park which makes it ideal for outdoor camping. Create memories of fishing in the river, biking along the park, and enjoying lawn games — all on the campgrounds!
NEW COVID PROTOCOL LAYOUT. Starting today, the Parks & Recreation Department will start accepting online reservations from park visitors to secure a campsite at Labonte Park for the weekend of Friday, April 2, 2021 to Sunday, April 4, 2021. We have developed a park layout that will increase the size of some of the overnight campsites. The plan also reduces the number of available sites by 33%. This effort was taken in order to accommodate social distancing of six feet for families averaging 15 people per campsite and to allow for a social distance of six feet between camp sites.
Campsites 1-15 are 50 feet wide and allow one RV per campsite. Campsites 16-53 are 50 feet wide and are recommended for groups of 15 people. Campsites 54-101 are 35 feet wide allow for groups of less than 10 people. Refer to the park event sitemap for more details.
RESERVATIONS: As a reminder, the online reservation period will run from Tuesday, March 23rd at 12:00 p.m. until noon on Thursday, April 1st or earlier if all of the sites are reserved before the deadline. A camping fee of $28 will be required for up to three nights of camping at the park. RV campsites are $55 for up to three nights of camping.
New this year, each site reservation will receive 2 parking passes as part of their camping fee. One additional parking pass is $6 and will be available for purchase at the time of reservation. These fees help to offset the cost of trash pick-up and site clean-up required as a result of the holiday camping.
Campsites are reserved and paid for in advance at https://register.ccparkandrec.com/. One campsite package is allowed per customer request and payment must be made within 24 hours of reservation approval. No campsites or parking passes will be available for purchase onsite.
Reasonable accommodations are provided upon request and in accordance with the Americans with Disabilities Act. For assistance or to request a reasonable accommodation, please call (361) 826-3460 at least 48 hours in advance.
ADDITIONAL REMINDERS: We would like to encourage our residents to practice COVID-19 safety protocols. These guidelines include wearing facemasks when traveling through the park or are near strangers, only sharing park space with family members or individuals that you regularly maintain contact with and exercising social distancing of six feet or more.
We would also like to ask you to please respect our parks. With a recent beautification project that saw nearly 100 trees planted in Labonte Park, please take care to ensure the foliage remains undamaged. In addition:
- Remember that alcohol is not permitted in public parks (to include Labonte Park).
- Please use the trash receptacles provided for park patrons.
- Keep your neighbors in mind when playing music or engaging in loud activities.
- Please keep your pets on a leash when patronizing our public parks.
