CORPUS CHRISTI, TX – This weekend, Corpus Christi International Airport (CCIA) will provide a training ground for K-9s and their handlers. These K-9s are preparing for service at schools, crisis situations and to provide comfort to the elderly.
The training will be conducted by a non-profit organization called Go Team Therapy, Crisis and Airport Dogs, Inc., the recipient of the 2020 American Kennel Club (AKC) Paws of Courage Award. The trainer will be on hand to guide the dogs and handlers through a variety of real-world situations inside the terminal from common noises and crowds to the TSA Security Checkpoint.
Members of the media are invited to come out and cover the training. Media members may park in the commercial lane directly in front of the terminal. The instructor, Nancy Trepagnier, will be on site and available for interviews during the training. She can be reached at: Nancy@GoTeamDogs.org or 719-231-7213.
