UPDATE: Health District’s Friday Vaccine Clinic Inoculates 2,500 Individuals in Phase 1A and 1B

CORPUS CHRISTI, TX – The Corpus Christi – Nueces County Public Health District successfully completed its mega vaccination drive thru clinic today giving out 2,500 inoculations for individuals in Phase 1A and 1B.
There will be another mega vaccine drive thru clinic tomorrow, Saturday, January 16 at 8:00 a.m. at the Richard M. Borchard Regional Fairgrounds, 1213 Terry Shamsie Boulevard, Robstown, Texas. The remaining vaccines for individuals in Phase 1A and 1B, approximately 2,500, will be administered on a first come basis Saturday until none are left.
The Health District will again have portable restrooms on site for patrons. Food trucks have been invited to take part and are expected in the vehicle staging areas allowing patrons to buy food and beverages. There also is a nearby Whataburger restaurant that provides food service options. Motorists are reminded the Nueces County Junior Livestock Show will be taking place in the same area and to watch for pedestrians.
As wait times are expected, be mindful of medication(s) you may need while waiting for vaccination. Patrons are encouraged to bring something to keep them busy. Some suggestions include:
- Medications
- Books
- Puzzles
- Videos
- Snacks
It is anticipated the Health District will receive another 4,000 doses on Monday, January 18 for individuals in Phase 1A and 1B. If the Health District does receive vaccines on Monday, it will activate another mega vaccination drive on Tuesday, January 19.
