Everhart Road Construction Project Update

Project is on Schedule and Within Budget

CORPUS CHRISTI, TX – The $14.3 million Everhart Road Construction Project that started in September 2019, is a three-quarter mile road reconstruction project. The project consists of new sidewalks, curbs, gutters, ADA ramps, concrete roadway, underground utilities, and traffic signals from Holly Road to South Padre Island Drive. Road construction will be complete in March 2021.

The project will be completed in six phases and is on schedule and within budget with 40% of the project being completed to date. Phase 1 and 2A which includes the northbound lane from Holly Road to Curtis Clark Drive have been completed. Phase 2B which includes the northbound lane from Curtis Clark Drive to Corona Drive is scheduled to be complete by the end of August 2020. Phase 3 began August 5 and will include the southbound lane from Holly Road to Bonner Drive. It is estimated this section will be complete by December 2020.

Last week, Phase 1 and 2A reopened for public use and Phase 3 was closed for construction. Below is the Everhart Road Construction Map demonstrating the current road construction area and temporary street closures.

Next steps for the project include Phase 4 (southbound from Bonner Drive to Corona Drive) which is slated to start by the end of the year and Phase 5 and 6 (north and southbound lanes from Corona Drive to SPID), scheduled to begin in January 2021.
