Rodd Field Road – Saratoga Boulevard to Yorktown Boulevard Update
CORPUS CHRISTI, TX-- The Traffic switch originally planned for today has been postponed to Thursday, July 2 due to unfavorable weather conditions.
Traffic will be switched to the newly constructed section on Rodd Field Road. Rodd Field Road will remain two-way between Saratoga Boulevard and Brooke Road and Rodd Field Road will remain one-way northbound between Brooke Road and Airline Road and Slough Road. Traffic traveling southbound on Rodd Field Road is being detoured onto Saratoga Boulevard to Airline Road. Only local traffic should continue past the intersection of Rodd Field Road and Saratoga Boulevard.
During the switch, westbound Slough Road at Rood Field Road intersection, will have a closure for 3 weeks. Traffic will be detoured to northbound Rodd Field Road during that time.
During the switch, the free right turn on eastbound Saratoga Boulevard at the intersection of Rodd Field Boulevard will be closed for the duration of the construction. Traffic will be able to turn right at the intersection of Rodd Field Road and Saratoga Boulevard
The closure of Rodd Field Road corridor between the intersections of Airline Road (Slough Road) and Yorktown Boulevard will remain. Residents who normally use this segment of Rodd Field, between Airline Road (Slough Road) and Yorktown Boulevard, will be directed to use Lipes Boulevard and Cimarron Boulevard as detour routes. This closure is necessary to make improvements to the Master Channel 31 drainage structures and other improvements associated with the Rodd Field Road reconstruction project.
Travel lanes along Yorktown Boulevard are opened to allow motorists to travel on both sides of the median.
Safety is a top priority, so motorists are reminded to be aware of the work zone, follow the posted detour signs, or seek alternate routes to avoid delays.
