Pad Demolition of Former Helicopter Monument at The Water’s Edge
Creating Space for Playground Enhancement
CORPUS CHRISTI, TX – To make way for improvements, the Corpus Christi Parks & Recreation Department advises residents and visitors about the pad demolition of the former helicopter monument located next to The Water’s Edge playground, 402 S. Shoreline Boulevard (map), beginning on Wednesday, May 13, 2020. The area surrounding the helicopter pad has been secured for the safety of park patrons during the demolition.
The Water’s Edge will remain open for park visitors to use the other amenities such as the playground, Islanders Pavilion, Vishal Bhagat Dog Park, and fitness area. Patrons are asked to be aware of cautionary signage and temporary barriers at the work site to maintain public safety. However, additional temporary amenity closures may be required once demolition work begins.
The improvements will consist of interactive outdoor musical instruments to be installed to enhance the new playground area. The improvements will be completed for residents and visitors to enjoy during the upcoming summer season.
