City Announces Changes to Daily Public Library Operations
CORPUS CHRISTI, TX – The City of Corpus Christi’s Public Libraries will be implementing operational changes effective Wednesday, March 18. In light of COVID-19, the City believes it is in the community’s best interest to adhere to public safety guidelines issued by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC).
Administration is postponing all weekly programs and events until further notice. This includes Pláticas Musicales originally scheduled for Wednesday, March 26, and The Veterans Fair scheduled on Saturday, April 18. Both postponed events were to have taken place at the Ben F. McDonald Public Library on Greenwood.
Also, Library staff will now allow a maximum of only 50 visitors into the libraries at a time. Visitors must sign in when entering, and staff will adjust time limits on computers as needed. The library also reduced the number of computers available to increase social distancing. Staff continues to increase their cleaning procedures
