Corpus Christi Area Institution and Facility Updates

CORPUS CHRISTI, TX – To date, there are no cases of Coronavirus (COVID-19) in Nueces County. In response to concerns over the illness, the City of Corpus Christi recommends social distancing and practicing preventive hygienic measures such as frequent hand washing and hand/face avoidance.

Currently, all City of Corpus Christi facilities are open for regular business.

Additionally, the Corpus Christi Art Center, Corpus Christi Museum of Science and History, and the Art Museum of South Texas remain open. The Texas State Aquarium and USS Lexington  are also open.

The American Bank Center and Whataburger Field are closed from Friday, March 13 through Sunday, March 22.

The following is a list of known institution and facility closures and other sporting events schedule adjustments (subject to change):

Schools:

Corpus Christi Independent School District (CCISD) is extending Spring Break and is expected to re-open Monday, March 23.

Colleges and Universities:

Del Mar College, Texas A&M Corpus Christi and Texas A&M Kingsville are extending Spring Break and are expected to re-open Monday, March 23.
