CORPUS CHRISTI, TX – Join us as Mayor Joe McComb, Council Member at Large Paulette Guajardo, and District 1 Council Member Everett Roy, along with representatives of the City of Corpus Christi Parks & Recreation Department celebrate the first sign installation for The Water’s Edge with the unveiling at Sherrill Veterans Memorial Park.

This park is dedicated to recognizing and celebrating our country’s veterans and is home to many monuments and markers. In 1952, Sherrill Park was named in honor of Warren Joseph Sherrill who was Corpus Christi’s first World War II casualty at Pearl Harbor. The park was renamed Sherrill Veterans Memorial Park in 2017, as part of The Water’s Edge park development project.
