Holiday Tamale-Making Demonstrations

Two Classes offered December 7 at the Historic Galván House in Heritage Park

CORPUS CHRISTI, TX – If you’ve been wanting to learn how to make tamales in no time, the Corpus Christi Parks & Recreation Department’s Cultural Services invites you to its popular seasonal cooking demonstration. Two tamale-making classes will be offered on Saturday, December 7, at 10:30am and 1:30pm at the historic Galván House in Heritage Park located at 1581 N. Chaparral Street.

Sandra Vásquez, inventor of the ‘Mas Tamales’ masa spreader, will demonstrate how to spread masa on a dozen cornhusks to make tamales with the glide of the hand in about a minute! Cost is $10 per person and includes the demonstration, recipes, and food samples. Don’t miss this delightful holiday tradition.
