CCIA Ready for Holiday Parking Rush

CORPUS CHRISTI, TX – With every flight departure out of Corpus Christi International Airport (CCIA) this week, the commercial parking lots are sure to get fuller by the hour.  In anticipation of the high volume of holiday travelers expected at CCIA this week, the airport is prepared to open overflow parking in the long-term lot.

“We expect the long-term lot to fill up prior to Wednesday,” said Fred Segundo, the Director of Aviation at CCIA.  “If we see the lot filling up, our contractor, Republic Parking, has been instructed to open the overflow parking in a field on the north east side of the lot,” said Segundo.  This will allow more people to use the long-term lot if they prefer it when they travel.  The covered parking lot will likely fill up too between now and Thursday.  Travelers should keep in mind that the short-term lot is also available for extended parking.  Parking rates are as follows:

Long Term Parking:  $7 a day

Covered Parking:  $8.50 a day

Short Term Parking:  $10.00 a day

Please give yourself a little extra time when coming to the airport to catch your flight during the holidays.  And remember that curbside at the terminal is reserved only for active loading and unloading of passengers and luggage.  Customers will not be allowed to park and wait curbside for passengers who are arriving on flights nor can they park on the curb and leave their vehicle unattended.  Public Safety officers will be enforcing the city ordinances in order to keep things safe and secure for travelers.  Drivers who arrive early to pick someone up can park for free for 20 minutes in the short-term lot if there are spaces available.

If you have questions about parking or curbside rules, please contact Kim Bridger-Hunt, Marketing Manager at CCIA at kimb@cctexas.com or at 361-774-7871.
